Can We Deal With Depression?

Let’s talk about elephant in the room which no one seems to care about and invisible to many; let’s talk about depression. According to me this is a disease and should be treated like one. The method might not be medicines only but love, care, believing in yourself and work positively.

My question to the people around a person who is in deep depression is that when you find someone who has broken his/her leg or hand, you ask them to be careful, take step carefully or don’t lift hand much, if someone has a fever or any other physical disease you wish them good health? Why not the same with the depression? Why you do not care about this, why it is an ignored disease? Just because the person who is depressed does not seem hurt but do you know they are broken from inside, demotivated from inside, feels devalued from inside. They do not share their problem because they confined themselves to a shell and they find it comfortable and most of the time they think they are the one who should be burned with their problem not or they are confused.

The meaning of Vitality is ‘the state of being strong and active; energy’.

Anything that makes you less stronger is a disease and this is a disease of your mind, your mental strength. So you have to fight this with the same. This is a war within you ( Antradwand), the biggest fight anyone has to do it to become successful.

Now let’s prepare for a war against this enemy and understand it first.

Common reasons why people get depressed?

Depression is an extremely complex disease. No one knows exactly what causes it, but it can occur for a variety of reasons.

  • You lost someone close
  • You constantly working on something but you are failing
  • You are not able to make the decision
  • You have too many choices to make the decision
  • Personal conflicts
  • Events like fired from a job, getting divorced, low income,
  • Social isolation – you are lonely

The common emotional response you can see is “Grief”.

Now we learned that depression is a very complex disease and the common emotional response is “Grief”. Now we have to prepare for grief.

The first step is to deal with depression is to believe in yourself, if you yourself have doubt about you then how can other will have confidence in you. Start the war from within yourself and if in a war you don’t believe the leadership you end up losing it.

You are the leader of your life, you are the hero of your life, you are the creator and destroyer of your life, claim it, embrace it, lead it.

Claim your position in your life, embrace mistakes and correct it and then lead the life toward whatever your goal is.

2nd thing you should be doing is to start executing things, the state of ” Analysis Paralysis” is when you have too many choices or you are scared of taking any of the paths because you know in any path you are going to lose something or someone. Take a decision, which you think is the best just take it.

The key to defeat depression is hidden inside you, no medication can help you in this state, you are the one who is the best medicine for this.

Learn a skill – This is one of the best ways to deal with depression, start learning a skill. In this state, if you can concentrate your energy you can learn 10X more than what you usually learn.

Calculate risks – There are two kinds of risk

  • Certain Risk
  • Uncertain Risk

Suppose you have a dice and you roll it, you know that any of the 6 faces will come since you know this you prepare for each and every situations.

You cannot prepare for uncertain risks but what you can do is to think about the worst case scenario and prepare for it, you will have a great command over these kinds of risks.

Talk about it – Just talk to anyone about your depression, if you share your feeling there is a chemical change in the brain which helps you to relax and maybe that person can solve your problem or together you both can see a light at the end of the tunnel.

There is nothing wrong with you if you are depressed but there is everything wrong if you know about it and do not do anything about it. Like a disease understand what causes it, diagnosis it and cure it. Like other disease fights with it, with with the version of you who is holding you back and become the better version of yourself again and again.
